Morgan comes to you shrouded in muslin. Upon which I have hand written the story of who they were in life.
A little representation of our mortality, Morgan can serve as a reminder of how we want to live our brief and beautiful lives, and as a way to accept and embrace who we are, here and now.
Morgan was made in my smoke free home studio. I used cotton muslin for their body and their shroud. Their body is made with a combination of machine and hand stitching. I hand stuff and hand assembled them using a needle and thread. They are 18" long.
'They spent their life carefully choosing their people. There were moments of heartbreak, because we all misjudge sometimes. They were always practicing at feeling safe with people, because their life had made them wary. They were a little lonely because of this, but mostly, they found their own comfort and happiness, regardless of how others saw them. They found their own way, and when they opened, they opened like a flower, and the light from them was magnificent. Radiating a joy and playfulness that was infectious.'
