Christiana Edmunds is perhaps the only case of confectionary terrorism in Victorian England. She was accused of one murder by chocolate but was accountable for nearly two years of seemingly random poisonings in the seaside town of Brighton. She was dubbed The Chocolate Cream Killer.

She was so fabulous, I've made two versions of her!

Her entire story is on the blog!

There are no photographs of Christiana, but we have this illustration as well as a couple of descriptions of the outfits she wore to court. I combined some of my favorite looks to imagine this very fancy get up. Christiana wears a black crepe bodice with pin tucking details and a crochet appliqué at the neckline, embellished with antique black beads. Her waist is accentuated with a beaded band with a floral motif. Her  skirt is full, and the front panel of it is a delicious black crepe with detailing reminiscent of the inside of a coffin. She wears a lace brocade cape with feather trim at the top. Christiana comes home to you with a wee box of chocolates and a little unmarked  poison bottle.

Christiana was made in my smoke free, one cat household. She is made of tea dyed cotton muslin, and fiberfill. I made her, and her clothing with a combination of machine and hand stitching. Her hair is dyed wool, and has no odor.
