Minnie's shadowbox is brown wood and measures 6" square. It sits prettily on any flat surface. It features an antique photo of a woman in profile, sitting on the same peacock colored duiponi silk that the Minnie Poppet wears. She is embellished with embroidery floss in various shades of blue, a gold ornament in her hair and a litte bead earring. From her mouth pours golden threads of song. The outer edge of the box is embellished with the same trim Minnie wears on her dress, and a vintage decorative piece at the top.
This shadowbox comes with Minnie's story handwritten by me with a dip pen and black ink.
Minnie was a singer, and on the stage she shone
her manager did raise her up and set her on a throne
Great fame he did create for her, and in return he stole
her maidenhead, her dignity, and finally her soul.
Left disgraced she sang through tears,
as he smirked his smug disdain
then with her voice all tremulous she carefully took aim
He looked aghast, shot through at last
and many a woman rejoiced
but as for poor dear Minnie,
that shot silenced her voice
She hung upon the gallows, her broken heart avenged
she swore she'd hunt him down in hell,
and murder him again.
