Lizzie Borden took an axe,
and gave her mother forty whacks;
When she saw what she had done,
she gave her father forty-one.
Her entire story is on the blog!
There are many photos of Lizzie, so this is One version of Two Lizzie dolls that I made.
This version of Lizzie features a pin tucked bodice with puffed sleeves, a high neck and a floral appliqué. At her waist is an antique silk and embroidered accent, with striking shades of blue and a very delicate gold. Her skirt is slim cut and is made of the same fabric as her bodice, a wonderful reproduction black silk that matches the antique piece seamlessly. Lizzie wears a removable shawl, which comes from an antique bodice. It is hand knotted and accented with black beadwork. Lizzie is approx 24" tall. Lizzie comes home to you with the wee axe pictured.
Lizzie was made in my smoke free, one cat household. She is made of tea dyed cotton muslin, and fiberfill. I made her and her clothing with a combination of machine and hand stitching. Her hair is sheep, and has no odor.
