Maria was a ladies maid,
she was silent and submissive
she knew her place and skillfully
attended to her missus
The heir he was a gentle Lad,
downtrodden by his mother
He fell for sweet Maria,
and swore he'd never love another.
But when his mother found them out
she called for them that day
she absolutely forbade the match
and sent the Lad away
Maria, she was determined
to change her lot in life
to finish off the missus
and become her dear lads wife
she took some arsenic from the shed
and trembling made the tea
that would send her Lady to her grave
and set Maria free

Maria wears a dark gray dress with a simple dotted pattern with a pleated bodice and antique lace at the sleeves. She wears a cream colored apron with antique lace trim, and an antique lace bonnet. She wears a wee brooch.

Maria was made in my smoke free, one cat household. She is made of cotton muslin and fiberfill. I made her and her clothing using a combination of machine and hand stitching. Her hair is wool. Her elbows, knees and wrists bend. She stands 23" tall.
