Memory felt forgetting creeping in, and so she poured over photographs, seeking the small memories they held for her.
Memory wears the softest black bodice with puffed sleeves and a full skirt. With lace at her neck and wrists, she holds a wee photo album which measures a mere 1". Her neckline is lined in pearls, and her hat features a purple ribbon, both indicators of half-mourning, traditionally observed for the 6 months beyond the First Year of Full Mourning. I chose to put her in Half Mourning as a reminder that there is no time line for Grief. Memory is 24 1/2 "tall with her hat on.
Memory was made in my smoke free, one cat household. She is made of cotton muslin and fiberfill. I made her and her clothing using a combination of machine and hand stitching. Her hair is wool. She comes with a wee handmade, hand embroidered linen hankie of my choosing. I've also included the most incredible little photo album, made by Little Things Interest on Etsy.
