This shadowbox is a little rumination on Memory. We have the ability to take and keep so many images of loved ones, but there was a time when the process was expensive and out of the reach of most. This tiny cabinet card photo becomes a full sized portrait inside this wee shadowbox. And I've included a key, because keys represent so much, the act of unlocking, of protecting, of keeping.
A full length image of an older woman in Victorian dress, standing with her hand resting on a chair sits in an ornate miniature gold frame. A key rests above it. The box is wood, painted black. The inner background is black felt.
Partial proceeds of the sale of this item go toward the Darksome Charity Ukraine Relief.
