Weeping was a torrent as ceaseless as the passage of time. Her tears small testimonials to her broken heart.
Weeping wears a soft black silk dress with antique lace at her neckline. She wears 'Weepers Cuffs', white linen cuffs with antique lace trim. At her waist is a wide black, blue and gold embroidered band. Her hands are held to her face, and her head is bent in weeping. Her cream lace and blue embroidery represent half-mourning, traditionally observed for the 6 months beyond the First Year of Full Mourning. I chose to put her in Half Mourning as a reminder that there is no time line for Grief. She also comes with a wee handmade, hand embroidered linen hankie of my choice.
Weeping was made in my smoke free, one cat household. She is made of cotton muslin and fiberfill. I made her and her clothing using a combination of machine and hand stitching. Her hair is wool. Her elbows and knees bend. With her head bent, she is 20" tall.
