It is thought that the elusive Belle Gunness killed 45 people, mostly men. No one knows for certain. She was never apprehended or brought to trial for a single murder. In fact, Belle was believed to be found dead (and headless) in the smoldering remains of her home in 1908.
Belle's entire story is on the blog!
I love this photo of Belle, she just looks so Over it. I gave her a white linen pin tucked blouse with a lace ruffle at her neck, complete with that big, glorious bow. Her cuffs feature the same white lace. Her skirt is very soft and flowing, and at her waist is a thick velvet ribbon. She comes home to you with a wee box of matches, made by me!
Belle was made in my smoke free, one cat household. She is made of tea dyed cotton muslin and fiberfill. I made her and her clothing using a combination of machine and hand stitching. Her hair is felting wool, and if you press your nose to it and sniff it does smell faintly, well, sheepish. I find it pleasant, and it does fade in time. But if you are extremely scent sensitive, please consider this.
