Ruth is one half of the beloved couple in the novel Fried green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe. Determined and brave, Ruth leaves her miserable marriage to find her joy living with her beloved, and together they run the Whistlestop cafe.
Ruth wears a swiss dot dress in pale green with an antique white scalloped edge linen slip underneath. She comes with a removable yellow floral apron for working in the cafe.
Ruth was made in my smoke free home studio. I used cotton muslin for her body. Her elbows and knees bend. Her body is made with a combination of machine and hand stitching. I hand stuff and hand assembled her using a needle and thread. Her hair is wool.
